Christmas, was pretty boring this year, just the usual Christmas dinner but this time round it at my uncle's house which is just across a big field near my house. Spent the whole afternoon hauling food over and back. And manage to get lots of sleep!!! I am losing sleep now..
NPCB concert finally its over! ah hahaha.... Another load off my shoulders. Pretty enjoyable concert, but my playing standards didn't reach my expectation for the first half, guess I was jus keeping the air inside me. Hey! Air is free! So I give it all during the second half. Second half of the concert was more fun. But I am very disappointed with a certain bunch of people who came and attend the concert and left during interval. I couldn't catch them in time to say Hi. But I would still want to thanks Vivien and Yaying for attending this concert. And some shuqun people whom watch the whole concert. Hope you all had fun listening to it.
Well... Now in preparation for SWO's new year concert. 4 tickets at hand and I have no idea who to sell to. Haiz... Always a problem. People... pls come, 8 Jan at VCH (again!) Hehe...
my condolences to all the victims of the recent tsunami. Learnt about it in geography but have not seen one in such magnitude! This is the most distructive tsunami ever. And I believe it could be an re-enactment of Noah's ark. anyway, if you someone appeal to you for any aid, do help out, small packs of panadol will help in a big way...
God Bless everyone!

Who moved my christmas?
school is coming to an end of its third week. pretty stress out from the modules i am taking, all thanks to the reduction in the number of study week. all thanks to some people. assignments coming in or should i say, assignments come smacking at my face. and with the band concerts and society's stuffs.
anyway, NP band concert is just round the corner, yesterday was its final rehearsal, i should say it sounded pretty good. so i am expecting a good concert this coming monday. will i play well? we shall see... And I think i am pretty much decided on which band to leave.
I don't think i am able to juggle such tremendous amount of stress. and i am on a different level of playing field as compared to some people. People are different and so is the amount of stress they can take. So don't come telling me how much workload you have, how much shit you are in and you still able to take it, there is nothing to wow about!
Christmas anot, i think its pretty much burn. Looking forward to my aunt's nagging over the video editing of korea trip. Hmm.. let me see where the blame should go? perhaps myself.
Guten Nacht! (Good night in German)
Merry Chirstmas guys!

Annyeong Haseyo 2
Took me a long time to update on my trip to korea. Busy with school stuffs during the first week, school was pretty fun but stressful for me now. ICT Christmas bash is just round the corner, so we are in the mist of preparing that event.
Day 3
Everland, korea's largest outdoor theme park is the place we went. All got up early and prep up for a day's of fun. My uncle arranged transport for us, a tour guide and a driver. Reach there early with all my young cousins excited about this trip. All were sing and laughing away. Everland is basically a korean version of disneyland that you will find in USA, so they have all the animals for young kids and rides for the older ones and other stuffs for the even older ones. So at everland, we took a safari ride which is one of the attractions in there, a bus will take you up close with the lions, tiger, liger( cross breed of tiger and lion) and bears. The bears are the cute ones, all sitting around waiting for the bus driver to feed them. They even had a street parade, based on christmas as the theme. Well, its a day more for the kids.
Day 4
Skiing!!!! This is the day i have long waited for. Itching to ski for 4 years and i finally get to do it again. Haha... 2 and a half hour ride to the ski resort, again arranged for the same tour guide and driver. i snooze on the way there, and looking at the video my uncle recorded, he actually took a video of me snoozing away. Lolz! Wee... took my ski equipment and headed for the snow. Lost touch, plus the snow was not in a favourable condition, they were kinda old so basically u were skiing on ice instead of snow. Fun! can't wait to do it again. Perhaps skiing lessons at snow city first... hmmm...
Day 5 - 9
Shopping time, went to 2 famous area for shopping. Namdaemum market and Dongdaemum. Namdaemum market is something like what you will find in chinatown during CNY. Lots of wholesale activities going on, mainly fashion. Dongdaemum is more of a shopping mall, it caters to local and tourist. Clothes at dongdaemum are fashionable and trendy. Basically, if you are looking for clothes for yourself or to set up a business, these two places are the best place to go. Anyway, we shop mostly at night, i mean mid night when the kids are asleep so we sneak out of the house. Hahaha.. its was fun. Dongdaemum actually doesn't sleep! Besides shopping, did a little sight seeing. But one of the days were disrupted by a DEMOSTRATION! so we decided to cut short it. didn't get to see it, but get to hear it, even though we were quite far from it.
During these few days also have to endure my cousins fighting and whinning and crying. Haha.. it will be my last trip with the elder cousin among that bunch.
My flight TG 629 from Seoul to Bangkok was very pleasent. Except for the rude customer service people at hong kong. There were not from Thai, its their airport staff. Surprising is the aircraft used was the same one that i took from SIN - BKK. Registration HS-TJE
TG421, BKK - SIN. Was much less enjoyable, mainly because the flight is filled up with singaporeans. aircraft used was pretty old too... Registration HS-TAF. The flight made me feel like i was flying budget. Hahaha... anyway, that about all i would want to say. It could be longer, but i decided to cut it short.
My reflections, very enjoyable trip, manage to learn some basic korean words good enough to communicate to get my way around. Had lots of fun and made my passion for travelling and flying stronger! Going solo the next time round!
Korea, i will be back soon!

Annyeong Haseyo!
So tired after a long flight back home. But its nice to be back, why? school is going to start otherwise i don't mind staying for anther week or 2!
Day 1
Check in at Changi Airport for Flight TG 402 to Bangkok continuing TG628 to Seoul via Hong Kong. Total Flight Time was about 10 hours. There was a long queue at the airport, and we were the last few people to check in for the flight, thanks to my small cousin who is reluctant to get up! haha.. anyway, the seats assigned were spread out. For me, i was flying alone for the SIN-BKK sector, with a japanese guy who sleeps all the way and only wake up for meal and a Indian guy seating on the other side la. both know how to sleep. Amazing!
Flight TG402, aircraft registration HS-TJE
Well, 2 hours later we landed at Bangkok International Airport. Because mine is a window seat, i look out as we touch down, i saw a golf course in the middle of the 2 runways! Argh! haha... I got out of the plane first, waited at the gate for 10 mins before the rest of the gang got out! Bet they were looking for me in the plane! We hurried through the airport, looking which gate the next flight were and go through security screening. When we check out the next flight, it indicated that it will transit in hong kong! Only then we realise it! hahaha.... anyway, we board the plane and head to hong kong then to seoul. Service on this flight was much better than SIN-BKK flight.
Flight TG628, aircraft registration HS-TJB
2 and a half hours later, we found ourself in hong kong. Been there before, but was many years back. Checked out the new airport they have, it was HUGE!!! its the world largest! again, went through screening again and waited at the transit lounge. Airport Customer Service was rather average in hong kong.
Down to the final leg, HK-SEL, same flight, same flight attendent and same plane. 3 and a half hours later, touch down at Incheon International, hop on a taxi, illegal one i think, and zoom of to my uncle's house. Terrible communication breakdown with the driver, but we still manage to find our way there. hahaha! One hour journey from Airport to downtown Seoul. That is one day of travelling. Meals are serve onboard.
Day 2
Got up rather late, my two cousins living in korea were off to school and the rest were just lazing around. Finally we get our ass moving and off to Itewon, a toursit attraction equivalent to Singapore's Orchard Road. Its just walking distance from my uncle's house. Well before we leave the house, my uncle called from work telling us that it snowed at his workplace which is the other side of seoul. anway, light snow started to fall at my uncle's house, my first sighting of snow fall. Light snow fall now and then, off to Itewon for lunch, and then heavy snow fall! Wow!!! Awesome sight indeed! i was coverd in snow. The first snow fall in Seoul! To add on, I heard a brass ensemble playing outside baskin robbins! haha.. some chirstmas music, and i am totally surprise that they are able to play at 0 degC! Didn't hang out much and headed back home, the kids are whining away so the older ones stayed at home. Got a awful pain behind my ears, due to the cold temperature. Dinner was at a local korean restaurant? Looks sort of like our coffeeshops where you just pop in for a quick meal. Tried their Cal Bi (Beef) and my favourite Kimchi!
Temperature is around 0 degC.

doom's day
The past three days was very terrible for me. Something happen unexpectedly and it just took me by surprise. This period of time have been very difficult and depressing for me, hopefully the upcoming trip overseas will somehow cheer me up again. It is sad that i will be able to explain to my friends what happen. And they can never understand the difficulties i gone through. I want to take this time to apologise to people that i have offended. I am also utterly disappointed that my friends can never understand the tough time that is now currently going on, especially someone i hold dear to my heart.
To my section members: I really feel gulity for not attend this camp and also being irresponsible for not informing you guys when u all call and msg me. I just kept mentioning in the phone call and sms that i will come. But I really have personal matters to attend to. I really hope i can let you all know what happened but its to personal to mention it out. I sincerely apologise to you all.
God, please brighten up my day.

A B C D achieve it all!!! =)
don't know if its a coincidence, mentor called me about 15 mins after the resutls are out. Lolz.. anyway its jus regarding a camp at NUS i think. but i couldn't attend it, falls within the period i am away. anyway, suggested some of my classmates that i think should go. overall, i don't think anyone of them will go. disappointed....

Eros and Agape
how long? very long..... yup its been a long time since my last entry. lazy i guess, all that sitting around the house is turning to a replica of GARFIELD!! love that fat cat.. meow!
What's have been going on so far? hmmm... guess this hols have be dedicated to music. Band, French horn and Piano. other than that, just looking forward to my trip. Yippee! well.... at least 2 more weeks to go before i leave.
Recently i found out how cute and loving my grandparents are. hearing my grandmother telling me how they tease each other sometimes when they go out. Lolz.. that's what 50 years of marriage comes down to, love and respect for each other. something which make me sit back and think...
Eros or Agape?

yawns....
wow.. its been a long time since my last entry haha.. slacking all the while except for last tuesday, where i had a very interesting experience in the operating theatre. after some injections and ................
haha.. i just came out with a very interesting music analysis of Movement II of The wind in the Willow title Ratty and the Mole. haha... Ratty should be played in the way that the main melody of the song sounds like the busy rats, i mean country rats not the urban rats. running in and out of the barrow in the search for food and stuffs.. if i would replace the melody with words, it should goes: "Hurry hurry, let's go... we have not much time!" As for Mole, i believe mole have a very close family bond between them if i recall properly from the animal documentary i watch before, so the main melody carried by the horns should present the warm and close family bonding they have. haha.. Overall, this movement should show the contrast of a very busy animal who is always on the hurry and a very slow and ease going animal with warm feeling. Just my 2 cent worth.
well... i am off to combine band prac with SMB and Alumni. They are going to rehearse for the upcoming sentosa performance where i will not be in because i will be going overseas!!! yeah!!! anyway, making lots of sacrifice, giving up sentosa performance, leadership camp and band exchange for this trip. hopefully it worthwhile and i believe it will be otherwise i fly back!!! haha...

halfway there...
halfway there now... 2 more papers and that the end of this semester. how did i do till now...? rather discouraging. well i think i am all prep up to conquer the next paper amist all the loud banging and music from the block next to mine. its something i won't want to mention.
yes! finally i got my dream camera, after so long, took it for a test run but can't wait to test run it again, itching to finish up the current roll of film. haha... thanks alot to the seller, sweet lady. there is a great opportunity last friday, when i tag along with my family to kusu island. huh? what am i doing there? just go there for fun of it when i could use the time to prepare for the next paper on saturday. hahaa... could not resist the temptation. as i said, i could have brought my camera there to snap some nice landscape shots but, haha, just didn't bring the camera.
the trip there... oh gosh, the ferry we took was crawling its way there. just missed the faster vessal that usually ply along the SIN-Batam route. but manage to catch that vessal on the return trip. Its kind of funny, on the return trip, i just sat there in the comfy seat and look out at the skyline of SIN and somehow, i felt so relax.
oh well, my two buddies, haha, celebrated my birthday 6 days late. hahaha! something that i really didn't expect to happen. jus a normal chilling out afternoon, went to SWO to take parts for the upcoming concert then dinner. Totally surprise for what they have done. that's what buddies are for!
Thanks bros...

pain & fun
i just can't stop thinking about the wisdom tooth operation that i will be going for, it ain't any fun letting a dentist pulling your teeth even though i have done it before, but i still have the fear for it. can i not pull? tough decision, it has it advantage but is it long term or short, wonders...
there is so much fun activities lining up for the next three months or so, can't wait for these activities to come but the operation still come in line first. haiz.. spoil all the fun thoughts that i have. really hate to have such misery feeling but i still have to go thru it, i am willing to be suffering for exams as i know i can bring myself joy at the end when results are release, but my tooth... sighs... dentist are evil, either they scale and polish your teeth till you cry in pain or sent you for tooth extraction like nobody's business.
3 events coming up after the tooth op, band exchange where i will be conducting music workshop, possible leadership camp by ICT in malaysia i think and posible korea trip. all falling at the same period of time, LoLz.. don't know how things will work out, nearer to that week then work it out again. hopefully the korea trip will happen and be back before the exchange so that i can fly back in time to conduct the workshop.
Dentist are still evil!

I Have A Dream
I Have a Dream,
A Song to Sing,
To Help me cope,
With Anything.
what dreams do I have? A dream to enjoy life as happy as possible and share the joy with everybody and the person that will be dearest to me. LoLz... yup that's my dream, simple aite? well that's me! currently enjoying the MAMA MIA! album that i bought this afternoon, realising that ABBA songs are quite meaning full in some ways. like it alot...
alright, this is reality, just finish my MAD Assignment, worked thru the night till 4 am, where the birds are chipping to the daybreak as i hit the sack, funny rite.. why rush last minute, thanks to my partner, long story.. my tutor will justify the work. 2 weeks work cramp into a night, something that i will never forget. but still proud of myself, as i could complete such a major assignment, well 90% by myself. *Taps on my back* LoLz...
oh yea, just another sunday, out of the house and hang around town, suppose to attend a youth rally, but, hahaha... Laziness rulez.. so walk around town, and watch the change of guards at the Istana, and saw something that totally disgust me. if i could, i would have told her off in the middle of orchard road, not that its something i am incapable of doing, but i think she does not deserve my dressing down. well... let it be.
Over all, still a fun and enjoyable day.... and i still have a dream. The dream of have sweet dreams every night, going to accomplish that now. Ciaoz!

MAMA MIA!
went to church today, but i overslept so was late, well its okay la... haha!! after church, Joel and i were trying to get a ticket to mama mia for me, rush down to esplanade to book. initially, expect the tix to be hundred over, the last 2 seat available, but to our surprise as a student i got it at half the price and the seat that i got is wonderful, what more can i request for. Wow! anyway, went for lunch and watch the show.
the show was full of energy, the songs, the dance and the act. Wow! Hilarious and simply amazing, catch it while its around. Especially the lead female actress, beautiful voice, very clear and pure. The cast sing and dance with energy, and love the story line even tho its a typical romance cum family storyline with lots of twist. Hahaaa... grand finale, saw the audience were on their feet dancing away to the music of ABBA. LoLz.. will i watch again if i have a chance? definitely.. YES!!!
Great seats, great show. A musical that i never forget!
Thank you for the music!

near perfect
weekend has passed, and it was a interesting one. well... it all started out on friday afternoon. Dreads, sitting in EP for 2 hours listening to 9 groups of presentation where 8 of them covered on the same photographer. ouch! my ear hurts.. by the end of the lesson, the history of the photographer is drilled into my head. Lolz... Basically after that went down to queensway shopping centre with joel, both of us shopping for a backpack, and i am also looking for a camping bag, saw a few but still undecided yet. passing by clarke quay on the way to town, we remember that there is a music shop there, selling instruments, so decided to get off and visit the shop, but its close, went back later in the evening, wow... i am stunned by the large amount of instruments, new and old. Negotiating for my french horn, Holten of course, think i will get it soon. anyway, joel and i play around with the instruments, and the shop owner doesn't seem to care.. hahaa.. think he trust us in handling the instruments, we are musicians. fun fun.. going back there some time soon.
Saturday, OOP walkthrough, also OOP dateline, well i didn't manage to complete the assignment, there is still some errors in the coding but can't solve the error, programming is really not my forte. oh well, think i should be able to pass. God Bless. Band was rather "interesting", i am suffering from headache due to lack of sleep and the trumpets were screaming into my ears throughout the practice, ouch! Became the tuner of the section, LoLz, Mr Tan was using me to tune the other horns. following that, went to music essential to hunt for scores, manage to find the beethoven sonata which was played by one of the masterclass student. happenly, it was one of my grade8 horn piece, so i bought it. oh yah, i decided to take grade 8 for french horn next year. Eager to try out. LoLz. Wish me luck.
Sunday, stayed at home, didn't want to go to church, and also decided not to go clarke quay to test out the horn. jus want to stay at home. evening went to my grandparents's place to collect my medicine, had dinner there and went home. I should say, ever since my uncle, Ben Tan and family left to korea, weekends at pasir ris is rather cold. my uncles n family seldom go there now. when i was there, uncle patrick when to pick up food for his family and gave me a ride home. i didn't stay there for more than an hour. Miss those days where everyone was there, makes the weekends a lively place to be with all the small kids around. things are not going to be the same...
Today, piano lesson, was late again, 2nd time in a row. Well, did jazz again and the third piece for my piano grade 8 exams. fun fun fun. except got irritated by this primary school kid on the way there, rudeness rule his mind, it seems kids of the same race are like that, i am not being racist. more like its a cultural thing. had supper with joel and happen to saw jefferson at Bt Panjang plaza. chat while eating and now sitting here blogging away. oh! and i didn't go to school today.

masterclass
attended horn masterclass yesterday. basically, nothing to much to comment about the masterclass. Barry Tuckwell focus more on the perfomance aspect of playing the horn. Certainly he went into details of the concerto's and sonata's played by the 3 hornist. Its something like what goes on every piano lesson now where my piano teacher will sit beside me and go into detail bar by bar of my exam pieces. other than that, learned nothing much, mostly were taught by Miss Tan during secondary school days, more or less a refresher course for me. Was hoping that tuckwell will go into technical aspect of playing but didn't. He mention is a One to One thing, what works well on one player might not work well on the others. which is one point i could agree on. but at least a little something general on horn playing pls... haha! lesson over.
one thing about this masterclass, i was paying much attention to the pianist other than the horn. LoLz.. the pianist is good.. very good. haha! gotta prac on my piano more, technic is getting no where now, lack of time to practice. But i like one thing, is the 2 jazz piece i have to work on now. like jazz alot, but still J.S Bach and Beethoven are my favourites. why work on jazz? well, my piano teacher mention of jazz gaining popularity in sight reading, so she is preparing me for it which i don't think i have much of a problem handling it. haha!

FMS tutors..

anyway, i am so tired now, don't think i will touch on my assignment today, that's make it 2 days in a row i didn't do and the clock is ticking. tick tick tick! off to sleep, tomorrow is a new day!

take aim.... fire!
Wooooohhh!!!! check it out, i fired a M-16 rifle! hahahaha.... exciting it was, and a experience that i never forget. 3 out of 5 rounds hit the target. not bad for a starter, will shoot more when i get enlisted into army. hahaaa... i missed the first 2 as i am trying to concentrate and get used to firing amid the loud sound of explosion around me. Didn't know that the sound of a rifle being fired could really throw my head off. well... its someone beside me fired his rifle and the explosive sound pushed my head off the rifle. how is it being done? Soundwaves of course. While i triggered the third round, no bullet came out, something's wrong with the rifle. the safety officer took charge and pass the magazine (container of bullets) to another officer which allow me to finish off my remaining 3 rounds. took aim again, and woah la! all 3 hit the target. Nice........ (FYI: All rounds are blanks!)
Results from firing: Me - 3 rounds
Father - 2 rounds
Brother - 1 rounds
Definitely made the right choice to tag along with my family to the army open house. too bad didn't get to see the display of firepower by the armour vehicles, next year i guess. And if possible i would like to try night firing. Sure looks cool with the tracer rounds. Okie, falling out! Keluar Baris... tata!!!

music and computers
sometimes i really wonder, what is the quality of a true musician? is it someone that committe themselves to the only instrument throughout their playing years or one that change their instrument as and when they like.
anyway, i think my desktop PC has come to the end of its life cycle. haiz... i am sitting beside it for the past 50 mins just trying to get it boot up. either the PC beeps indicating that there is no signal from the monitor, or it just hang while booting up. think i am going to backup all my data in there the moment its ready for use. check out the new iMac . Drools.... another of my dream machine and another creation from the fruit! hahaaa.... oh well... how i wish i can have that!

Geez..!! well. after we ate, there is still lots of time left! what the hell.... anyway, rot all the way till 2 before the next lesson starts. class is really getting boring these days, the W01 spirit is really slowly disappearing away. haiz.... miss those days where we really crap around all day, all week. =)

3... 2... 1...
with the upcoming formation of my alumni band, the total count of band i will be in is 3. Spread over 2 days and there is only 1 me! am i ready to commit myself to all three band or will i have to sacrifice one. looks like i really have to reconsider things again.
oh yah, this decision was prompted by the arrival of a new assistant conductor in NP. pretty cool stuff, something for a change, a better and more refined band i hope? or its just the np band that i will forever know. heard he is one of the SAF Band directors. Band A or Band B? well, gonna find out soon.. Definitely not from Band C. oh well... i just wish the standard of music will become higher and of course, not just with a new conductor, but also better concept of music from the band.
Music is my life...

updates
this past week have been very packed with things.
Monday- the week by doing revision class for the freshies. i feel that i could have done better during my "lecture" by doing some preparation before and try to speak slower. haiz... didn't realise i can speak so fast. anyways, same day i went to arts friend to get my materials for the farewell dinner and waited for eddie at chinatown for almost an hour before i can go and get my cloth for the banner.
Tuesday - morning have make up class for OOP and afternoon went down to chevrons with siti, annette(my assistant) & rebecca to make final confirmation of the farewell dinner. returned back to school later to start on my banner. didn't manage to complete it tho...
Wednesday - return back to school to do the banner again, annette got to leave early so she helped out as much as she could. didn't want to hold her back, family matters cropped up i suppose. the banner was completed, so a great relieve. Yippe!!
Thursday - Oral exam, i think i didn't did that bad but its good enough to get a pass? oh well. wat's done is done. went out to R&R with eddie, to stress up this week.
Friday - Popped by at shuqun to pass yizhi winXP cd, her comp broke down as usual. sit in at band prac for a while before i had to zoom off to chevrons for the farewell dinner. Weather is bad, it rain and rain non-stop today. was actually hoping that it could stop around afternoon but it didn't so no poolside for the dinner but the function room. Logistic head and me had a difficult time putting up the banner in the room, could not actually tie the banner up so we had to stick it up but the tape provided by chevrons is not sticky enough, end up we had to paste the banner with a awfully ugly black border. urgh! otherwise it could be perfect. the dinner went on smoothly and had a fun night as others do..!
Saturday - early morning went to shuqun for a alumni band meeting with the principal. regarding the setting up of the alumni band, finally something is happening. Wow! oh well.. see how things go from here. catch up with yaying, vivien, tanny and any other people today.. haha!!
Post up every single thing that happen this week so that explain the long post.. hehe! common test is here... well.. gotta hit the books.

pissed..
urgh!! SWO, bloody hell, ask me to return the horn and i got another horn, which is a lousy brand.. urgh! i am now so determine to buy my own horn now! gonna use my horn from NP band that means i gotta lug it with the heavy wooden case around. oh well... that's the price to pay if you want to use a better horn. oOooo.. i love horns..!
anyway, i think i am stressed up that i am getting hot tempered recently. hope no one gets offended when i scream or yell at them out of no reason. i am just stressed up.

Flabbergasted
missed NP band prac today, and went to attend band concert at the Esplanade. Was assigned seats behind the band which is also known as the gallery. First thoughts, it looks like one of the worst seats in the hall, but after all.. not so bad. Could really hear the horns clearly.
Didn't know how high is Thailand's band standard, but could clearly hear that the horns played as one powerful section. It is one of the best i hear so far. Wonder if my horn section could be like them?? Would love to play with thai band's horn section. Beautiful tone too! It really melt my heart when i hear them play either as a soloist or as a section. Gosh! Think they are the target that i am going to set for myself. Gotta prac hard Nic!!!
Don't why, but i would envy how overseas band play, they have never fail to impress me from the amature to the professionals. I am just flabbergasted today...

mixed feelings
Recieved great news from ICT society's annual general meeting a.k.a AGM today. Firstly, many congrats to those who have gotten themselves into the society either in Main Comm or Sub Comm. For me, yes, i manage to get into main comm of the society, it is a surprise to me. Will be looking forward to an exciting year with everyone. And i will take on the challenge of being a main comm and be up to task!
Rather mixed feelings these days tho.. perhaps i am too worn out that i wish to drop everything and just take a break or perhaps its just over a few small matters, don't know why but.. Haizz. Hopefully my friends that are troubled with matters of the heart can get over it and be cheerful as they are again. My ears are always open to problems...

Attitude
My post carries on from the the one yesterday. I really can't believe how ugly can Singapore get, squeezing and pushing people around just to get into esplanade itself. I nearly tripped and fell a few times by these people. Oh well... Its Singapore for god's sake.
Okay I'm getting very irritated by someone's attitude and I don't why that person has turn into what she is today. It is very annoying when you hardly have a chat with someone which you don't always see everyday and ends up in a quarrel during the conversation. On top of that, I am the one that is been accused of starting the quarrel when I didn't even have the intention too. I am not that is so mean and free to start a quarrel with anyone, even if I want to why must it be her? I could simply do it with my classmates or my buddies. Seeing more lights as the story unfolds itself on how my relationship with someone fails.. Terribly!
Meet up with Joel after piano lesson last night to talk about it, i emailed my thoughts to my 2 buddies and let them judge for themselves. Joel asked me a very good question "How did i manage to put up with her?" Well, I just don't know.. Perhaps its just my character.
This matter annoys me the whole of yesterday and still does today. I getting a little hot-tempered these two days over this issue, and i really wish i could just calm down and live life as usual.

iTs over!!!
Yeah yeah... Finally PnC is over, totally overjoyed by it because now i can take a long good rest after a busy month. Yieepy!!! My thoughts from PnC, is not as enjoyable as SWO concert in terms of musicality and stuffs... but still its still fun to play in this concert because of all the fun people we have in NPCB.
Most of the time during the concert, the band is not playing according to the conductor's tempo, so there is some point in time during the concert where the band nearly broke down, but good thing is that the band is able to play together even without the conductor's direction. I was very dishearten to hear Noah's Ark during the rehearsal that same afternoon, i got quite furious with the band playing but there is nothing much i could do about it. But kudos to the horns, we played well! LoLz....
After concert, a group of us when to Jalan Kayu for prata, it was around 1 am in the morning and i am dead tired, and the service at the prata shop is so poor. we had to wait and wait for just one pathetic piece of prata. oh wells.. spend the night at andrew's house, my gosh, what a beautiful toilet he have.. not much place to step on.
Got home the next afternoon, suppose to go to SWO for a lunch but too tired to go. Catch up with SWO ppl the next time round. Stepped home not more than an hour and i was out again for dinner with my family at Tony Romas's(think got spelling error) and they dragged me down to esplanade waterfront to catch the fireworks. Damn sleepy and fell asleep while waiting. But its a beautiful display of fireworks i must say..
Most of the time during the concert, the band is not playing according to the conductor's tempo, so there is some point in time during the concert where the band nearly broke down, but good thing is that the band is able to play together even without the conductor's direction. Still have not design my poster of myself, gotta publicise myself... *grins. Voting will be on 3 Aug.

Also attended a seminar on Microsoft latest softwares at LT 26. Overall its quite interesting as you will get first hand info on the next MS Operating System, .Net software and other stuffs. By chance won myself a set of Visual Studios 2003 .Net software, sure come in handy sometime even tho i have already installed one copy into my lappy.
PnC coming soon... yeah!! after that i will not be as busy as before and have more time to relax and concentrate on my studies... Other than that, had an enjoyable weekend.

SWO Concert
Feels great to be back at VCH again! Concert is a major success since my last concert at VCH more than a year ago. But its one of the best i ever had, in terms of musicality, repertoire, and section mates. 4 guys only! Smallest horn section i ever been in. Totally enjoyed it alot!! Yippe! Will be back for more! And yes! my horn solo went well even tho is a short solo, totally proud of myself!
Many thanks to Pee, Amanda and the other NP members that came to this concert. Also thanks to RS horns for the flowers, caught me by surprise! But its very sweet of you, even tho i barely know you all. Hopefully you guys will be motivated to play the horn after listening to us. Okie, 2 weeks break for SWO. will be back on the third week from now for a lunch i suppose? See you guys soon! Time to focus on NP concert. Phew...

3 Day orientation Camp
This is one camp that i least enjoyed thru my years of camping. Not because of the insect bites i have from the residents of sentosa, but its the organisers and the way they run the camp.
First day of camp, i reported late as i have overslept. But its okay because there are activities going on that morning which does not require logistics team which i am in to do any thing. I am one of the two that was left behind to help out that morning. The rest of the team have already gone to sentosa on day zero. Basically, done nothing much on the first day except helping out games and looking after the campsite while all the campers went out for nite walk. The day ends at 2.30am for me.
Second day, woke up at 6.30am. 4 hours of sleep only and it rain at night. Freezing in my sleep, but thanks to bernard who threw his hammock on my feet. kept me slightly warm. Started the day with making a large tub of milo for campers. Never done it at such a large scale. LoLz...!! Followed by distributing breakfast and some packing up at the logistic area. Packing of water bomb comes next and we packed about thousand over water bombs over a period of 8 hours. Meanwhile packing, also delivered lunch to a game station situated at the ferry terminal. Took a monorail there and back to the beach. At least some sight-seeing at last. Upon returning to the campsite, logistic team started to transport firewood to the campfire site and setting up campfire situated at least 1km away from the campsite. Walked up and down the route for at least 6 times. Able to catch some winks before clearing away lunch and distributing dinner to campers. Just before campfire starting, decided to leave the camp to head home. Totally worn out by then. 14 hours of non stop work.

Opening of a new chapter!
A new semester has arrived..! yeepy! Year 2 in Ngee Ann Poly already!
after a long yet fruitful holiday the new semester has started with a huge satisfaction. Weeks of planning for today's orientation for the new year 1s has finally paid off. Seeing those freshies enjoying themselves while playing the games organised.
Looking forward to be with my classmates again, doing all those stuffs that we usually do. Didn't get to hang around much with them, only during lunch break. But its back to normal routine tommorrow onwards.

Band Camp & Fever
4 Days of band Camp and i was gone on the first day.
Day 1: Arrived at band room almost an hour late, feeling a little unwell, in fact started to cough the night before when i went to see harry potter. Picked up the horn and started playing. My condition got worse when during lunch, the sight of the packed lunch made me wanting to puke, but still i try my best to eat, but haiz.. just can't eat! by the advice of my section member, Amanda, i stop and had gone on an empty stomach throughout the afternoon. Tried to play after lunch, but just couldn't, no strength at all.. so i decided to stop for the day, meanwhile my condition just get worse. till helped the librarians with packing scores, i start to feel horrible. I then decided to go home, hoping to return back the next day. Took a cabby home.
At home, lay down and start to feel feverish, took my temp and indeed i was offically down with fever. Send an SOS msg to my mom. Before going to see a doctor, i took my temp again and this time round i was burning! my eyes were all red and i looked horrible. Geez!
Day 2: Morning and i am still burning going even higher, 40 deg! Could hardly have the strength to move. Took a quick cold shower, trying my best to bring it down. But the fever just burn and burn. Sleep most of the day. At night again i took another shower, but this time, i nearly passed out in the bathroom. Before i totally passed out, i dash out and lay down on the bed. Phew! never faint before and this is a close call.
Day 3 & 4: Basically this 2 days, fever still there n fluctuating but just spend the time bring it down.
Well! That's how i spend my very first band camp in NP away from NP! ahahaha.... Recovering now! Thanks for concern guys!

Respect is Earn not Gain
After so many years, have my parents understand what i have grown to become? Speaking about respect, it finally comes to light that my idiotic father has no idea what is respect. To him, respect is something that everyone has to give him without any particular reasons. But after being a student leader and have experience in teaching students, I was taught that respect is something that you have to earn!
Yes, i have to admit that i give lots of respect to my elders, especially my parents. But have they ever give any respect to me as their son? As i am sitting infront of the computer posting up this blog, I am very heart broken. As I think about this family, it makes me more determine to leave this house or country when i am ready to. I feel that i could no longer take this kind of rubbish from this family any longer. It just emotionally and physically draining for me.
Living in this house its like standing in the middle of a mine field, any single wrong move, the mines will just explode. Guess, by not causing any bomb to blow, its just pure luck. Engage in a conversation, its just like defusing the mine. This is how i live day by day.

Geez....
Geez... Other than slacking around as its holidays now, been having a lot of band practice and practicing on horn and piano a lot. But but but... Still need more practice on the higher registers for horn and need to run to build up my STAMINA!!! Geez.. Been breathless quite often when playing. Anyway, NP band concert is confirm to be on 31th July.
Just a few days ago, attended a talk by Adam Khoo, a famous motivational speaker, after sitting thru, I felt that its no much of a difference compared to other motivational speakers. And anyway, got to find out that my brother is attending one of the program conducted by him. Geez.. It cost a bomb. Don't know whether it will have any effect on my brother to help him improve his studies.
For my dental, I have to remove my wisdom tooth, very reluctant to do so. But just could not escape the clutches of the dentist hands. And going to see a doc for my face, told my parents regarding the cost and they look very reluctant to pay after enrolling my brother to the program. Perhaps, putting on braces may not be a good idea thou.. I would rather treat my face first then my teeth or maybe don't put on so I won't be suffering in silence when playing in band. I don't know, what's done is done.
Oh yah! Before I forget, my results are out tml. Hope my results are not that bad. God Bless...

iTs FiNaLly OvEr!!!
hey hey!!! exams are finally over, but i won't expect myself to score well in certain papers for the exam. I would say up till now, it one of the "Best" semester in Ngee Ann in terms of academic. Other than academic, it fairly an eventful semester with the Open house and of course my class!!!
Now its holidays, it will be taken up with band practices and event planning for the freshies. Other than that, i will be basically slacking at home. Some dates to take note - July 12 and 21 SWO and NPCB concert. Date for NPCB's concert is tenative. Cheers to Kenneath Lim on EcoRanger on the successful launch! Read the article on EcoRanger publish on 5th May 2004, Computer Times. Alright, time for me to sign off now, update you guys soon!

eNd oF cHaPtEr 2....
Okie... semester 2 is coming to a close, exams are juz a week away.
A few things happened this past weeks.. firstly is, attended primary school band competition held last week, pretty cool and interesting to see primary school kids competiting with each other. Well, its not a big bang unlike for secondary school, but its one event worth going.
Secondly, i have passed my audition with Sembawang Wind Orchestra (SWO), but its quite amazing how me and my buddy Eddie did it. We took out our audition pieces and started practising hour before the audition. General comment was.... "Don't Ever Pull This Kind Of Stunt Again!"
Thirdly, done my demo for my group's pizza ordering, well.. my feeling is, it could have been better.. but what's done is done. Thanks guys for EVP! For BIS report, got a good grade, thanks to Ivan for the AFD! PSP, don't talk about it. Cheers for those who have done well and work harder for those who don't
Other than that, most of the lessons have been cancelled during the week so i have been slacking around. So after the exams, holiday time... gosh! wonder what am i going to do for my holidays..? Sadly, my class is not attending prom nite, thought will be great fun for us to go.. well, perhaps next year! :-P

of teaching and wisdom
return to my secondary school today representing the band to attend a meeting regarding the formation of an alumni association, not a very productive meeting though but manage to get somethings going. hopefully this association will benefit in both ways and its not a one sided affair.
after the meeting, joined the band with their preparations for their sentosa performance. the upcoming performance requires them to march while playing, so they were out under the hot sun brushing up their marching. i decided to help out after seeing the majors having a hard time teaching them. poor girls anyway. so we split the band into smaller groups.
took 2 groups, one after another and taught them the basic technique. well, as i teach, words of wisdom just came out from me, its quite amazing though how it happen. and of course with some yelling, things have improve alot. just hope that it will maintain or improve their current standard until their performance.

pure coinicident...
after a long wait for my grade 6 theory results, i finally got it today from my piano teacher. well, of course, i passed! but what is conicidental is that another 2 of my teacher's student (they are gals) who we revised together, took the exam together, sits just beside one another and we got the same results!
hey! of course there is no cheating involve here... its just too coinicidental... nothing in the world could be more perfect than this! :-)
